From the beginning of the process through to the end it was such a helpful and friendly experience. To deal with a company through an 0800 number multiple times and deal with two different staff members, it was fantastic. I think some big corporates with an 0800 number could learn a lot from you guys.

The Smart Start interlock system was a great learning curve for a silly and thoughtless mistake, challenging to begin with but with a service helpline available made the process achievable after a couple of calls and emails.

I’ve definitely come out of the program with a much different approach to the mistake I made and can confidently say it will never happen again.

Smart Start organized the whole process for me, from the moment I contacted them after I was ordered by the court to have an interlock installed, until the instalation was completed. All I had to do was get an interlock licence from NZTA, then email a photo of this to Smart Start. 10 minutes later I had digitally signed the contract and then went directly to the approved Smart Start installer which was organized for me by Smart Start. Opting to leave my vehicle overnight with the installer it is ready for me to collect in the morning. They really made it a simple process with a friendly and professional service that has been very much appreciated 👍. Thank you Smart Start, Hayden.

Smart start are excellent to deal with, non judgemental staff and they generally call you back if they miss a call from you with an issue, always a positive attitude from Hilton who is just doing his job. My experience with Smart start interlocks was daunting at first, but it became a reality of commitment and change in my behavior towards drink driving. It helped me with my daily tasks as the interlock being the priority, I was able to drive. As days and weeks went on, blowing into the interlock device became a habit as it became my normal routine to start my day. The staff are amazing and each time I spoke with Smart Start over the phone our conversations were clear and precise where I could understand that helped me out when I had questions about the interlock. The process was a challenge but succeeded in having no violations for the 12 month period due to shear determination and commitment. It was a smooth transition from the beginning to the end when I exited. I recommend the interlock for those who struggled with alcohol addiction or even those who just want to put one in because they don't trust themselves, to give it a go and trust the process of change. I give 5 stars for there service that they provide and 100% belief that this program works if we work at it. It has truly changed my life and my way of thinking when driving on the roads. It has taught me how to be open, honest and transparent.

I have not wanted to drink alcohol at all as my licence means a lot too me .

I've heard all the stories of foods & vapes ect setting the device off, however the only trouble I have had so far is after leaving the dentist. I didn't even think about having had the mouth wash, which triggered a high reading. So other than the frustration first of waiting for it to start up, it's been a positive experience.

I called earlier and believe I spoke to a customer service rep called Owen. I was wondering what the difference between smart start and Draeger were. Owen answered my questions explained the entire process to me including the use of my community services card, licensing and told me there was an installer in Papakura and was nothing short of amazing to deal with. He explained there is no shut down period over the Christmas break which was a big plus to me as at least he could point towards one difference.

Shortly after I called Draeger to ask the same set of questions and was told "were not smart start so you'd have to call them" rather than explaining any type of difference in the company. She simply could have explained that they are cheaper but didn't bother to think that much.

The customer service is day and night between the two companies and I am so glad I called smart start first and started the process with you before calling Draeger.

At first it was hard to get used to. I failed the test on ordinary every day things like Chinese food and toothpaste. Once you get the hang of it, I found it helpful.
The best thing I have taken from this experience is, I now have changed my thought process. I'm not saying I'm cared, however I plan the od occation when I drink have other transport options in place for te morning after.

Very great customer service and pretty straight forward, what seemed like the end of the world and such a huge procedure to wrap my head around, smart start put it into easy steps and guided me through the whole process making it more manageable thank you. I would like to advise that if you get dental treatment do not drive yourself, it's near impossible to start the car with a numb mouth. When I called the call center there solution was to get someone else to blow into the machine (I was 20min drive from home and after the carry on with the interlock I had 2 minutes until my kids needed picking up from school) I followed there advise and had police show up at my door that night questioning the fact I had someone else blow into my machine whilst I drived. Just be careful when getting dental work 😂😂

Had an interlock installed and was easy and helpful . The person who installed it was friendly and knowledgeable.

You must have an proper orientation on new guy cause it's sad that we have penalties like don't leave the car while engine working and to see the the time that living the car when stop just double checking of count down sometimes machine asking for blow

The really helped me alot with getting my interlock installed to my vehicle the only down side for the interlocks them selves is they are really sensitive to anything with traces of alcohol

I personally believe that Smart Start Interlocks is truly the bestes way forward. All the staff where very friendly, helpful, and supportive towards me. I can truly say, for me, it is the bestes thing ever! Even, after my year has passed, I will definitely getting me another mobile breathalyzer! (I do got one at the moment, but I'll definitely upgrade in the near future!) Even at the Garage I go to every month to reset my Interlock, the staff are very helpful and friendly! I also believe EVERYONE should consider to have a Mobile Breathalyzer (If you Enjoy a drink or two!) That way, you keep yourself safe, and also others around you!! I also believe that this is a very good System, that teach you over a year, to rethink, your drinking habits and alcohol intake! I can never ever express my Uttermost gratitude enough towards Interlock Smart Start! Last but not least, I wanna thank EVERYONE for the role they are playing, in my path to RESPONSIBLE DRINKING HOBBITS!
